Kamala Sripada

Kamala Sripada is a news product leader, media entrepreneur, and host of the podcast Engineering Newsrooms, where she interviews product and technology leaders from around the world to explore how engineering is transforming the production and consumption of news. She develops solutions that empower platforms to use AI responsibly, particularly as news aggregators, while maintaining a publisher-first perspective.
 

As a media entrepreneur, Kamala headed Mura—a mobile app at the intersection of everyday news and education, designed to train youth as future public policy officials.
 

Before her entrepreneurial ventures, Kamala spearheaded the establishment of zero-to-one teams for ICFJ’s data journalism program in newsrooms across India.

A distinguished journalist,  she worked as an editor, reporter, and anchor for CNN’s India network, covering internet policy and gender issues.
